Saturday was a great day to be in downtown Wallaceburg! The BIA General Manager, Rachel spent part of the day downtown with her family. Starting off the morning at the Wallaceburg Farmers’ Market they saw lots of vendors with a huge variety of products to sell. The theme was lavender takeover and several vendors were selling products that incorporated lavender. There was lavender tea, soap, lavender infused honey, and lavender bundles and wreaths.

There were also all the products that you have come to expect at the farmers’ market, like local fresh produce, meat, and other handcrafted items. There were even a couple of vendors at the market for the first time. After the market, it was off to the Riverport for some breakfast.

Rachel’s market haul consisted of pepperettes and cheese curds from Williamson Farms, potatoes from Black Dog Garlic, and a gorgeous lavender wreath from Tacq’s Garden Market. That night for dinner, she paired those potatoes with some of those cheese curds, alongside some sausages that were also purchased from Williamson Farms, and a side salad. A simple, hearty dinner made primarily with local ingredients from the market was just the thing to hit the spot on a Saturday evening.

Don’t forget that the next Wallaceburg Farmers’ Market is on July 20th, 2024!
