There have been some recent changes to local garbage collection. As of April 1, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is no longer able to collect garbage bags placed at the curb. Garbage collection has transitioned to a fully automated system. Residents are required to have a compatible garbage container for curbside collection. All garbage must be contained in boxes or bags and then placed in your wheeled cart. Loose items and garbage bags at the curb will no longer be collected.
The standard 95-gallon cart can hold up to 3 large garbage bags.

Remember that garbage must be placed at the curb for collection no earlier than 7:00 pm the evening before your collection day and no later than 7:00 am the morning of your collection.
