Whimsies 2024 opening celebration was held on June 22 and was a huge success! Thank you to all the people who came out for lunch, to paddle, or just to check us out and get information.
Thank you to Melissa and Jeremy of Beef Meatz Bun for joining us for the day. They were able to make a $50.00 donation to the River of Lights campaign.
Thank you to Melissa and Dave of Patterson Motors for all the help with storage, heavy lifting, and numerous other tasks!
Thank you to Southwest Paddle Company for helping out with some new youth kayaks, as well as the 2 person tandem kayak and the paddle boards in our original fleet in 2022.
Thank you to the BIA businesses that donated items for raffle prizes! Prize donations were made by The Black Goose Grill, Glasstown Brewery, Goldcoast Fashions, The Wallaceburg Wellness Centre, and Westbrooks. Also, congratulations to those who won these fabulous prizes.
Another thank you goes out to Mike at Securacomm, not only for taking care of Whimsies security needs, but also for helping to deliver some of our new kayaks to our location.
There were so many volunteers and community partners that helped make this day a success and we appreciate each and every one of them! Thank you to Ryan Strong, one of our Whimsies volunteers, for helping us out with your kayak knowledge and experience. Thank you to Pat McCarron for all your help with the new kayaks, and the heavy lifting! Thanks to Whimsies staff, the downtown Wallaceburg BIA and board for your support of this project.
This even was such an amazing day, and a great way to kick off our 2024 season. We are so excited to kayak with you this summer!
