The entire BIA would like to send out a sincere thank you to everyone who made our first ever Frost Fest event a huge success! The volunteers on the River of Lights committee have worked for months to design and fundraise for new holiday decorations for our downtown core, and it was amazing to see their hard work come to life at Frost Fest on Nov 16th. The decorations in Civic Park were made locally by Schepens Ltd, so thank you to Jeff Schepens and his whole team for their incredible work. Wallaceburg councillors Carmen McGregor and Aaron Hall were onsite to help us light up the park. Music filled the air thanks to two local musicians, Jeff Black and Mike Uher, who were sponsored by the Wallaceburg and District Council for the Arts. Vendors lined the streets and downtown stores stayed open late to help everyone kick off the Christmas shopping season. The horse and carriage rides and special visit from Santa Claus made it a festive and magical evening!
We also had a lot of creative talent on display this year as well. Thanks to all the stores and artists who participated in the window painting competition, and the local artists who submitted their work for the new banners that are on display downtown. The River of Lights committee is looking forward to expanding the banner project in the future. A sincere thank you goes to all the BIA businesses, committees, artists and volunteers for their time and effort in supporting this event.
